AI intelligence: read the evidence before the claim
A practical route from an AI announcement to a scoped evaluation, with sources, limits and decision questions kept visible.
Start with a question you can answer
Name one task and the result you need. An announcement, a benchmark score and a successful trial in your own workflow answer different questions. Keep those distinctions in your notes.
Build a small evidence record
Record the original source URL, the publication date if shown, the date you read it, the precise claim and the limits the source states. If a detail is missing, mark it unknown rather than filling it in.
Test the part that matters
Use a representative nonsensitive example, define success before testing and record failures as well as useful results. A vendor statement alone is not a hands-on evaluation.
Keep the decision reversible
Identify the person responsible, expected costs, data boundaries and an exit path before connecting a tool to business systems. This page offers preparation questions, not a recommendation to grant access.
